We believe that the world is too fractured and our culture is too divided, and that this division is one of the most acute threats to our modern society. We also believe that ever since sports were formalized by the Ancient Greeks, athletic competition has been bringing cultures together. This power is amplified in minor league sports. We see local professional teams combine with amateur sports and other cultures and traditions to form a common language with which people from dramatically different backgrounds can converse. In the exhilarating victories and heartbreaking losses of sports, we see people finding common cause and common passions. We believe that sports, especially locally-relevant sports, can be a force for understanding in a world that desperately needs it. We want to have fun together, create value for ourselves and our communities together, and leave the world a more humane, connected, and fun place.
Aspiration
We aspire to be the largest and most successful collection of minority and controlling stakes in minor league sports in the United States. We believe that minor league sports teams are currently undervalued and that they are especially impactful to their local communities. We are long-term investors who will contribute focus, expertise and experience to our assets. We believe that sports is a business and we treat the business-side seriously. We are a company with a triple bottom line and we work toward three goals:
